New at Namm wasWillams Keyboard Guitar. While first shown at Nashville NAMM 2004, here they were taking order for product. They hope to start shipping in June. The Williams Keyboard Guitar, aka the "Keytar" is primarily constructed out of high grade pre-coated aluminum. Williams has been working on the Keytar for several years. It's the first totally new instrument that's come out in a long time. The student market is expected to dominate the initial customer base, because it has such a rapid learning curve. But, experienced keyboard players that are tired of imitation guitar sounds will be knocked out by the tone because this is a real guitar; it's not a digital patch. Plug the V-1 into an effects pedal, and it will scream like the pros. You really have to see and hear it to believe it. They also have several other ideas for similar products like a bass version, a smaller studio version ,etc but they are only dreams at the this time. The future will see if they show up. The retail price for the V-1 is $995.
