Notion Music didn't have any "news" but I have never checked out their software before. Like many people, I thought Notion was just another Finale wanta be. However it's not. It does print music but it's real focus is to compose music. If you are use to writing music on paper, then you will like using Notion. If you want to conduct music, Notion has that option as well. You control the tempo in real time by taping out the tempo. Of course you can play in real time from a MIDI keyboard. It is easy to use and comes with great sounds. Having the London Symphony Orchestra play your compositions is great. It also supports XML so you can import and export to other music notation programs like Finale.

Progression

Progression features thousands of real electric and acoustic guitar samples from Neil Zaza, and electric bass and drums samples from Grammy® Award winners Victor Wooten and Roy "FutureMan" Wooten. Guitar and bass amp simulators are included, and VST-hosting capability enables you to use your own effects plug-ins, and amp modelers to give you complete control over the guitar tone. You can quickly enter guitar tablature or standard notation with your keyboard and mouse - or you can play your music on a MIDI guitar or MIDI keyboard and Progression notates your performance for you.
