MIDI Block

Reed Kotler showed their newest addition: The MIDI Block. A very small GM module designed for the on the go musician or anyone wanting a great sounding GM sound module. There not much to look at (hence it's name) but it has what's needed: MIDI IN/OUT, Stereo out and volume. It's expected to retail for $199 and should be shipping in March or April.

Transkriber

The new Transkriber software by Reed Kotler Systems Inc. allows you to use your personal computer (Windows 95 or Macintosh compatable) to do professional quality transcriptions.Play the music you want to learn on your computers CD player (or on an external CD or tape player hooked up to your sound card). Record as much music as you want using the Transkriber's easy to use recording panel. Play the music back at whatever speed, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/8,.., 1/12 of the original speed without changing the pitch.

The Transkriber was designed to support beginning to advanced transcribers. Most great musicians will tell you that they got their start copying things from records (or CDs). Now you can do the same thing with the aid of the Transkriber.The many features of the Transkriber include several intuitive phrase selection methods which allow you to focus on one part of the music at a time, different slow down algorithms, built in filters designed to reinforce the particular instrument your are transcribing, pitch adjust, transpose, left/right channel selection, and a built in pitch generator.

A special new feature, when selected, will remove (or substantially) reduce the lead vocal (or instrument) track on most stereo pop recordings , allowing one to transcribe the rhythm section parts more easily.
